CUSTOM TOPS FOR SOLID FENCES

All of our SOLID WOOD fences are made from the highest quality products currently available in the marketplace. We use only higher grades of lumber for both the best in appearence and the longevity of your fence. The following list describes the APPEARANCE of our fence styles. Click on the highlighted term for sample photos of projects we have completed in the tri-county area. We can include the addresses of some of these fences so you can view them and see the quality of our workmanship and materials.

When we design solid wood fences we typically use: 4x4, 4x6 or 6x6 posts in Pressure Treated Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar or Construction Heart Redwood. 2x4 rails we use the same classification of wood and also Construction Common Redwood. 1x6 or 1x8 virtical boards in Western Redwood, Construction Heart Redwood or Construction Common Redwood. S4S 2x6 top cap and trimboards are Western Redwood, Construction Heart Redwood or Construction Common Redwood.

We never use the ´drypack´ method when building a fence because the concrete will not properly hydrate without proper mixing beforehand. The "drypack" method is notorious for making unstable fences. We set the posts and continue to build the fence only when the concrete has set. The 2x4 rails, 2x6 caps and trim boards are connected to the posts with either galvanized 3 1/2 inch framing nails or galvanized screws, @extra cost, to attach the boards to the rails.
