A Short History of Arbor Fence

OWNERS: GEN VAN BEBBER, RON WOODEN AND WIL WOODEN

We have been in the fence business since 1991 and in construction since 1978. Arbor Fence is a family run business with owners Ron Wooden, Genevieve Van Bebber and Wil Wooden. Ron’s other son, Casey, is a business advisor to Arbor Fence.

Ron has an extensive background as a steel fabricater, welder and construction manager in the fishing and trucking industries in the Fort Bragg area of northern California where he owned and operated Woody’s Weld-all for thirteen years. He constructed steel hulled fishing vessels, repaired heavy equipment such as loaders, garbage trucks, cranes, logging trucks, mill equipment, boats, trailers and anything that could be welded. He specialized in steel and aluminum fabrication building everything from basic tanks to frames for stained glass for an artist in Mendocino.

He sold his first business‚ Woody’s Weld-all (est.1978) in 1990 and moved his young family to Sonoma for new business prospects and better schools for his kids. He bought an existing fence company with one employee and one truck - in under ten years the business grew to 10 trucks and 23 employees.

Ron is the sales manager and oversees the crews and job sites. He is also the answer man whenever there is a problem to resolve on a job or something needs to be invented. Two of his children, Genevieve and Wil have been working in the business since they were 16 years old. Gen is now the general manager and Wil is the supervisor of the fence crews, runs the welding and fabrication department and is in charge of the gate and gate operator installations. Ron’s older son, Casey, has a business management background and consults with Arbor Fence on marketing strategy, office management and helps with pesky computer and internet problems.

Arbor Fence Inc has always emphasized friendliness, quality and personal service. We also believe in supporting our community and have been involved in local sports sponsoring or coaching in Pop Warner football, local youth baseball and soccer. We also spent many years volunteering for the boy scouts, girl scouts and the Sonoma Valley High School wrestling team.
